URUBAMBA CUNCANI LARES VALLEY TREK
TLARE

This is a beautiful trek through the snowcapped mountains of the Andes, where many Quechua villages are situated. The Indians of these valleys, who still live in the traditional way, are known for their weaving skills, with each village incorporating its distinct motifs into their work.

Our hike starts in Urubambaand follows the path through the Pumahuanca valley, reaching passes above 4000m we arrive to Cuncani and following the trails we arrive to Yanahuara.
This easy trek allows us to interact with the local people.
Our camping equipment and backpacks are carried by llamas and horses.

Itinerary

Day 1 CUSCO - LARES - CUNCANI

Pick up at your hotel and a 3 hour drive in a private vehicle to the town of Lares. There we meet our horse drivers with their llamas and horses and we start our trek. We follow a beautiful trail between some forest and flowers through the valley of Cunacani, climbing an easy trail that leads us to the village of the same name. We have the opportunity to meet the local people and enjoy watching their traditional weaving methods. (3 hrs hike - Camp at 3800m)
ACCOM - Tent / Meals - L, D

Day 2 CUNCANI - QUISHUARANI

From Cuncani we head towards the Pass of Coycuyccasa (4400m). Then we descend to the village of Quishuarani where we camp at 3950m. (5 hrs hike)

Day 3 QUISHUARANI - CANCHA - CANCHA

An early start to follow the trail to the Pass of Pachacutec at 4600m. Then we descend to the Valley of Canchacancha. We camp near the lake of the same name at 3900m. (6 hrs hike)

Day 4 CANCHA - CANCHA - HUARAN - CUSCO OR OLLANTAYTAMBO

We continue our hike following the Valley of Cancha Cancha. Easy descent towards the Sacred Valley where we find our vehicle waiting to take us back to Cusco or the train station in Ollantaytambo to catch a train to Aguas Calientes. (4 hrs hike)
