CARLOS AMES
Carlos was born in Huaraz, and while still in school started to explore and hike in the Cordillera Blanca; climbed several peaks: Chopicalqui(6350m), Ranrapalca(6154m), Artesonraju (6054m), and several times the highest peak, Huascaran(6768m). Carlos also worked as a river rafting guide, running rivers in Peru, Argentina and Chile. In 2001, he co-founded Aventura Quechua SCRL in Huaraz in order to share all the destinations he has visited. He now divides his time between Peru and Ireland, where he spends his time specializing in sales. Carlos speaks Spanish, English and French.

ANGELINA LAISO-AMES
Co- founder of Aventura Quechua. Born and bred in England, she has travelled extensively in Africa, Australia, Central America and Europe. She worked as a Tour Leader in South America, from Cartagena to Tierra del Fuego driving an Overland Truck for 18 months before setting up Action Travel in Peru. Angelina speaks English, Spanish and some French and now works and lives in Ireland.. |

VICTOR RAMOS
Our master cook, "the chef," on most of our expeditions. When he s not in the mountains, he is a handicraft artisan, working with stone just like the Incas. You can visit him in his kiosk in the artisan Market of Cusco.

Born and raised in Tinqui,
the starting point for treks in the Cordillera
Vilcanota and Ausangate regions. One of our most
experienced horse drivers in the area.

DOMINGO SALLO
From Cuncani, a small Quechua village in the Urubamba range, he works with us as a horse and llama driver for all our trips to Lares. Domingo is also an excellent cook, he loves to prepare ‘’Cuy’’ - guinea pig, a traditional meal along the Andes.

Joined us as a cook in 2001,
Chingo has participated in some of our climbing expeditions
to the Cordilleras Vilcabamba and Vilcanota. When
he is not in the mountains, he works in his fields
